Tots BJJ
Ages 4 – 6
Introduces Jiu-Jitsu through dynamic warm-ups, fun games, and confidence-building activities. Strong emphasis on throwing and falling to build coordination, balance, and confidence.
Our Tots program is specifically designed for children ages 4-6 who are just beginning their martial arts journey. Classes incorporate fun games, dynamic warm-ups, and age-appropriate drills that develop gross motor skills, coordination, and balance. Through partner activities and playful challenges, your child will learn basic Jiu-Jitsu movements like rolls, shrimps, and simple takedowns while building social skills and confidence. Every class emphasizes positive reinforcement and the foundational values of respect, discipline, and teamwork.
Kids BJJ
Ages 7 – 9
Builds a strong foundation and basic understanding of BJJ. Covers self-defense, dealing with bullying, basic positions, proper etiquette, and introduces submission holds.
The Kids program provides structured training for children ages 7-9 who are ready for a more focused martial arts experience. Students learn fundamental BJJ positions, escapes, and basic submission techniques through progressive drilling and live practice. Our curriculum also addresses practical self-defense scenarios including anti-bullying strategies. Classes build physical literacy, improve focus and listening skills, and instill the discipline needed both on and off the mats. Belt promotions follow IBJJF youth standards, giving students clear goals to work toward.
Youth BJJ
Ages 10 – 12
High expectations with close-to-adult treatment. Techniques focused around competition with strong emphasis on submission holds. Goal: develop future leaders who never forget the importance of fun.
Youth students ages 10-12 train with higher expectations and near-adult treatment, preparing them for the transition to teen and adult classes. The curriculum focuses heavily on competition-ready techniques including advanced guard work, sweeps, and submission chains. Students participate in regular positional sparring and are encouraged to compete in local and regional IBJJF tournaments. Beyond technique, we develop leadership qualities by having senior youth students assist with younger classes, building responsibility and teaching skills that extend far beyond the mats.
Teens BJJ
Ages 13 – 15
The perfect transition from Youth to Adult classes. Co-ed, follows fundamental BJJ curriculum, and prepares students for higher intensity training and competition.
Our Teens program bridges the gap between Youth and Adult classes, providing co-ed training for teenagers who are ready for increased intensity. Following the fundamental BJJ curriculum, students refine their technique through drilling, situational sparring, and full rolling sessions. This program builds physical fitness, mental resilience, and the confidence that comes from mastering challenging skills. Teens are also introduced to competition preparation and tournament strategy, with many going on to compete successfully at provincial and national levels.

The foundation of the academy. Learn fundamentals within IBJJF standards — self-defense, throws, positions, submissions, and introductions to advanced techniques. Should be prioritized by both new and advanced students.
BJJ Basics is the cornerstone of our entire academy curriculum. This program covers all fundamental techniques within IBJJF standards — from proper breakfalls and throws to positional control, escapes, and submissions. Both new students and advanced practitioners benefit from regularly attending Basics classes, as the refined drilling of core techniques is essential to long-term growth. Each class follows a structured format: warm-up, technique demonstration, partner drilling, and positional sparring. This class is the recommended starting point for all new members regardless of athletic background.

NoGi BJJ is practiced without the traditional Gi, using rash guards and shorts instead. This style emphasizes speed, agility, and modern grappling techniques utilized by top submission grapplers and MMA competitors worldwide. Students learn leg locks, wrestling-based takedowns, and dynamic passing systems that complement the traditional techniques taught in our Gi classes. The open submission ruleset allows for a broader range of attacks. A solid understanding of BJJ Basics is recommended before joining NoGi classes, as the faster pace requires familiarity with fundamental positions and concepts.
